How long has Well Dressed Walrus been building websites?

Since 2010 as Well Dressed Walrus. Our team has, collectively, over 40yrs of experience.

Your name is hilarious. How did you choose it?

We wanted something fun and unique that would be an easy domain (.com) to get our hands on! One night, after weeks of throwing around ideas, Andy’s wife said, “how about the Wacky Walrus”. We liked the idea of a Walrus, so we started looking for “W” words that would go with it and finally settled on Well Dressed. Tada!

Tell me more about your team.

We have the best team ever, and no one paid us to say that. We’ve gathered a talented, fun group of individuals who have a passion for what they do, and there’s nothing better than that. To learn more about individual team members, visit our About Us page.

How does the process work?

We like to start by getting to know our clients before we sign the contract, and after in the form of an intake meeting. Our Content Wizard will meet with you and ask billions of questions about you and your business.

From there, the Content Wizard will audit or write your content and layout your new site. After that’s approved, we’ll move to the design process, wireframing and mocking up designs, and then we move to the build.

How long does it take to build a website?

These projects typically take 6 to 8 weeks from start to finish.

How much will a new website cost?

Projects vary depending on your industry, needs, and the size of your site. For example, an eCommerce site would cost more than a basic brochure site. That being said, most websites fall between $5,500 and $7,500. eCommerce sites start at $7,500 and can increase depending on size.

I have an existing website that just needs a facelift. Can you do that for me?

Maybe you’ve got awesome content and all you need is an updated look. We can do that! We’ve helped a number of clients freshen up their look. These projects typically cost a little less and are completed more quickly. Let’s talk about your project needs! Contact us here.

I don’t want to write the content for my site. Do you offer writing services?

Absolutely! We hired an awesome in-house content writer, Morgan. She can produce killer copy for your website (and she even does social media consulting, too).

Can you find pictures for my site? I don’t have any.

We can absolutely help you gather images for your site! We purchase high-quality stock photos that cost $15.00 a piece.

Where is my website hosted?

We can handle hosting for you! If you already have a host, let us know.

Is my website backed up?

For clients who have a contracted maintenance program (we call ours Peace of Mind, you can read more about it here) we backup your old site and your new build. After launch, we make sure to backup your site every 3 months.

For new builds we do a full backup of your old site, and we can provide new build site files for 2 years, even if you’re not using PoM hosting.

What is Peace of Mind (PoM) hosting?

Our POM Hosting is a contracted maintenance program that costs $49.00 a month. Your monthly fee includes:

  • Website Hosting
  • WordPress Updates
  • Theme Updates
  • Plug-in updates
  • Daily Backups of database
  • Updates to Permalinks and .htaccess
  • Hosting related maintenance & troubleshooting
  • Phone & email support
  • Malware protection.
  • URL based email setup and support
  • Complete Hack Repair

Can you help me boost my social media presence too?

Yes! Our content wizard, Morgan, can consult you on the right social media strategy for your business. She’ll outline all of the do’s and don’t’s, create a schedule for you, and even create an editorial calendar for your blog or article posting. Get in touch with her for a quote.

I‘ve heard about SEO, but I’m not sure what it is.

SEO helps you show up in a google search when people look for your product or service. Show up before your competitors by using the right SEO keywords. Our in-house SEO expert will research keywords, write descriptions, and help you understand how it all works.

Do you offer payment plans?

After both parties have accepted the contract we’ll typically invoice you for half of the estimated cost. You can arrange payment plans with our billing department after your first invoice is sent.
